my second spread in the collaborative journal "framed" started by *KanchanCollage for #ArtfulDodgers
gallery [link]

the cardboard square can be turned and has the following text:

"In 1978 the Amoco Cadiz went aground off Brittany, releasing 230.000 tons of light crude oil.

Over 200 km of Brittany coast was contaminated during the earlier phase of the incident.

A week later, a further 100 km of beach were contaminated and a large part of the beaches already cleaned were recontaminated.

At least 8 tankers were caught using the slick as 'cover' to illegally dump oil." (From the cover of Robert Plant's "The Fate of Nations")

paper snippets, rub-ons, pieces of photo, stamps

This is a hell of a whimsical feeling between color and placement of images,
and while that's true, the purpose of the message seems to stick out even more.
A sickening awareness with ideals of a better environment.
Comparative visuals hit things home harder, I think.

i always love your insight in these matters
and indeed hitting the thing home was what i wanted most of all
these birds are still doing semi-alright, as it is only water instead of the thick, asphyxiating, glibbery oil
just like now off new zealand
and again and again
makes breathing real hard somehow
 and thanks, luv :chainsaw:
